10 Tips to Get Your Business Website Seen Online

  1. Google Maps
Make sure your business has been added and is correct on Google maps.  Most of the time when you search for a local business, you will notice that  a map will be displayed within the search results.  This map will list businesses within the local area for those keywords you searched for.  It is very important for all businesses  to check their listing, add their website, and make sure all of the information is correct.
  2. Title Tags
This goes hand in hand with Google Maps.  Make sure the title tags in your website describe your business keywords.  This is very important so Google Maps picks up the correct information and display your business correctly.  Open your website in Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  At the top left it will display the title tag.   A good example of this would be Joe’s Plumbing Service.  If the title tag just says Joe’s Plumbing Service, you would need to change it to something like Joe’s Plumbing Service, Pipe Repair, Toilet Clogs, Clogged Pipes.  Use descriptive words that the average person will search for.
  3. Use websites like PR.com
If your company has won an award, made an accomplishment of some type, or just has general information to release this is a good place to do it.  There is a cost associated with this, but you could reap a lot of SEO points by doing it.

Blogs are a great way to increase you’re your keyword frequency. The more you right about your subject matter, there is a better chance someone will be looking for it and make their way to your website.   One important thing to note: do not waste your time by getting a free blog for your business.  It does not help your search engine ranking unless you have it within your domain name… like this  http://www.yourdomainname.com/blog.  This is also a way to create repeat visitors for your website.   Make sure to add the code from Addthis.com so people will be more willing to share your posts.
  5. Affiliates
There is nothing easier than having someone else sell a product for you.  Affiliates will do that for you for a commission.  There are a lot of affiliate companies out there that you can join that have thousands of people everyday selling other peoples products.    Take a look at Commission  Junction or  Pepperjam Network for affiliate networks.
  6. Create a sitemap and submit it to Google
This is something that can help to insure all of your webpages are getting crawled by Google.  You can use a sitemap generator and XML-Sitemaps.com works well.  Once you have generated the sitemap, you will need to upload it to your website, then you can submit it to Google
  7. Promote your business on  other blogs
Even if you have your own blog, visit other blogs by typing in “(your subject) blog”  and  make comments.  This will do 2 things for you.  1st, you will be promoting your website and 2nd you will create link backs to your website.
  8. Google Coupons
You can add these at the same time you add your business to Google.  This is great way to generate business.
  9. Social Media
